CAPITheticAL - Big Ideas, Big Future
This is a design ideas competition for a hypothetical Australian capital city. We don’t presume that Canberra is about to be abandoned – but who knows what ideas will emerge!
Do you have a passion for culture, cities and urban planning? CAPIThetical invites you to look back at the big ideas that shaped our national capital and look forward to the big ideas that will shape our future cities in the 21st century and beyond. In the lead up to Canberra’s Centenary celebrations in 2013, it is timely to consider the factors and influences that led to the creation of a new capital for a newly federated nation.
Artists, graphic designers, architects, urban planners, environmentalists and students are invited to review these events and to help our nation imagine how such a challenge would be met today. There are over $100,000 worth of prizes available.
