Australian Urban Design Awards 2022
PIA, AILA & AIA
November 30, 2022, 5:00-8:00pm
After two years of hosting the awards online, this year we are trying something different. We invite you to celebrate and debate the future of urban design with a panel discussion, followed by a broadcast of this year’s 2022 Australian Urban Design Awards.
This event will be an opportunity to come together and celebrate at the end of a busy year, with refreshments will be provided by our venue supporter Arup. This year’s AUDA Convener is Katherine Sundermann, Director at MGS Architects.
Panel topic: What does urban design in the public interest look like?
In recent years our cities and regions have been greatly transformed, with significant public and private investment in transport infrastructure, new and evolving precincts and public realm upgrades. However with major challenges facing our cities around climate change, biodiversity loss and social inequity, what role can urban design play in ensuring this transformation occurs in the public interest? Come hear from key leaders from universities, government and the private sector on this ever important topic.
Panellists:
Chair: Mitra Anderson Oliver, Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions
- Dan Hill, Director of Melbourne School of Design
- Jocelyn Chiew, Director of City Design, City of Melbourne
- Penny Barnes Australasian Cities Leader, Arup
